RED

John Malkovich,Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman,Brian Cox-all  have made more than enough great movie calls in their careers and i think most of us can say they are deep actors.DEEP!!as in NIIICCEEE!So, piling them in a film with our(come on he is)with one of our beloved comic action dudes-Bruce Willis.....COME ON!(been watching a lot of 'rules of engagement')- being mega curious is an understatement!

I saw. I liked. I loved. You like Bruce Willis face that always seems to have a smile etched on it, his smart arse/bad arse -line delivery style, his bald head, now add that to an action film that is tight in plot and well told imho with effects in fight or flight that are 'wow' but not over the top...like believable, you got all that then add hilariously psycho John Malcovich-yes-hilarious,a bad ass presence of Morgan freeman, and a sexy, wise, disturbing Helen Mirren-that woman looks so GReat with guns. She may be over 60 but she is bloody!it was nice to watch her being so slap-stick. and Brian Cox for good measure-the British actor that gets the job done in any film ensamble, yes i said it-ANY.

So, come on!!!action with meaty plotlines+tasteful special effects+classy actors+comedy+drama.

curiosity didnt kill this cat!
i repeat -loved it!!

INCEPTION

If you don't know-now you'd better know!!

I call it the "matrix" of the 2000's.Yup-revolutionary, visual wise and Refreshing and strong story-wise.
Its a go to movie.Infact its a go to AGAIN movie.
There's a story in it for everyone to eat up so don't make the mistake of calling it JUST a Sci-fi film.

Enough said.Great thing! Great THING!!!
Christopher Nolan-well done my guy!!! That you WROTE AND DIRECTED this avalanche of labaryncious meat of a story!!RESPECT!!...respect to you. I read it took you over 10yrs or something like that-still You manifested the whole thing out of you alone.Respect.

Nice one.nICE.;)
in my humble opinion

A SINGLE MAN

A story about a very single gay man.
it was like watching a poem or visualising a worded English essay.Serene and dream-like.
I must admit,i mostly enjoyed watching it-because of Colin Firth-it was awsome watching him in such a challenging role.Oscar worthy my son!
Its a quiet drama with seeminly a lot of symbolism....or metaphor...ish and some heavy life analysis...ish.As i said-poetical essay.

Might need watching  again though,on my part.
"the english patient" but not.And in the story telling style of "the hours" and a little"the end of the affair"thrown in there.
Julianne Moore is in here as well ,feverishly scary genius as ever.

each scene was one discovery of story after another. I liked it. but you be sure of your film taste buds before watching it.

THE -A-TEAM

As i watched this classic movie remake of the 80's Tv series,i sincerely couldn't help comparing  and comparing....and comparing. I loved the show. I LOVED the characters. So a movie was made i suspect with partly the aim to convince me that i would enjoy this rendition as much as i did the series,if not more. So hey,i compared the living daylights out of it.Maybe not fair...but it couldn't be helped. These people were rebirthing one of sweetnesses of my childhood memories. You bet your arse,I'ma gonna compare

A-Liam Neeson's Hannibal seems more noble and Aragorn-ish.George's Hannibal i think had more of a wise-guy spice. Aha-the series' Hannibal was like Roger Moore's James Bond minus the womanising and The movie's Hannibal was the Pierce Brosan version of James Bond. For the sake of arguement-a weekly tv series has more time for character development/evolvment but in an almost 2 hr flick-the role has to be  as 3D as possible to make it believable, but then again the film  did span 8years.

A-  imho the film's B.A didn't really have much to do. I didn't see much of his Bad attitudeness that was so apparent in the series. As the muscle guy? not much,as the angry guy?-barely.His fear of heights though? Check. The back story of how that started built in-good touch. His classic dislike/intolerance of Murdock?well...not really.Quinton tried though.

A- I liked this Howling mad Murdock. I absolutely loved the Series Murdock-but this guy brought "it" on. His own brand of ga-ga ness.IT worked. I think Sharlto Copley is an actor i can't wait to see again. There were 1 or 2 scenes werei thought the character was too articulate(sane) to be Murdock, but i guess forgivable.

A-the Face man!! i'm a big fan of Bradley Cooper-ok,so  he brought on the suave and charm but it seemed too hyper and forced. The series' Face didn't even seem to try when he wooed and conned.Inmho

The film starts off from how they meet and 8yrs down the road to fugitives. The action and firworks is everything worthy of a 2010 adventure movie and more.

Yup, i compared and compared but enjoyed the film. The question of if i might have enjoyed it EVEN more if i had never seen the series. Well....

ANTICHRIST

WTH??!!!!!
I read that Lars Von Trier was having some phscycological and emotional issues before and during the making of this...antichrist!

Seriously i'm a huge fan of Dogville and Manderline, but watching this story was probably one of the darkest 1hr40minutes of my filmwatching life.

i've watched a few dark movies and i'm aware that some European film makers like to dish it out  fresh, raw and in your face.In my opinion, if you have a dark story to tell and the only way to express Truth is to shock the audience,ok- i can dig and appreciate it.If there is some good meat to be found ,i'll find it.

At the end of this movie i was void of any productive thought....just WTH and WTFF!(and this went on through the film). In short- i didn't get it! What was Lars trying to tell me about 'woman hatred'.

Lots of lustful cruelty...and even as i write this, perharps there was a story-telling theme in it all...but it seemed to be more about lustful cruelty. Maybe i don't understand, and need to watch it again-but i don't have the stomach,i have enough mess in my head...PERHARPS this was Lars's intention/message(?)-Man has a high potential to do unspeakable crap and everlasting good.

Ambitous editing and strong parable like dialogue.

paraphrased quote from this story-"Man has the power to do whatever he conceives in his mind"

Feel better Lars

IMHO

VALENTINES DAY

I love Garry Marshal(director of Pretty woman) movies. I am a close comrade to the way his mind works(at least when it comes to his definitive storylines.Come on,i don't know the guy)

The man has an optimistic, upbuilding, not de-moralising way of talking about love and relationships-a way that is not gushy wish-washy-mish-mash mush....AND YES,I DO THINK "PRETTY WOMAN" was NOT any of those things.

Valentines day is obviously and marketedly an ensamble cast -a box of chocolates type of thing. Sweeties like-Julia,Ashton,Jessica,Patrick,Topher...and lots more. All the characters are 'main' characters if u get my meaning. So,ofcourse i was compelled to see this film!!

The story(plural) -a different sketches of couples and people all dabbling with LOVE in all its forms. UNlike a timeless favourite"Love Actually" all them people are connected somehow which was some fun to watch.

I am stressing the word "sketches" here.Sketches. Sketches. Not oil painted meaty canvances in rich deep colour and depth. Nope. Sketchy but extra light infact almost zero calorie happy meal.

I say in my humble opinion- to the letter- fun to watch, MOSTLY because you see a lot of  stars.

PS
Favourite sequences with Jammie Fox,Julia Roberts(that woman makes me believe there is no such thing as acting),Topher and Ann Hathaway(i think the most dramatic).

THE MESSENGER

Another film about soldiers back from war,but with a twist. This wounded, damaged and decorated soldier is assigned (as therapy)to be one of those guys that goes to soldiers' families to officially inform them  in the case of the death of the  soldier in action.

Before seeing this film,..i knew i was in for a waterfall of tears. But it wasn't just a story of woe and dread....it had some more fleshy meat underneath and inbetween(as most great films do).

i cried not much, thought a little and laughed a little. It was a natural story ...or rather it was told naturally and trully. This was refreshing to watch i mean like a presentation of a different pscyhological angle to it all .

awsome pairing btw of Benjamin Foster and Woody Harrelson.Ben is beginning to steal my heart as an actr and it was a thing of beauty to see Woody go all downtown dramatically speaking.Home run.

as usuall its in my humble opinion.

THE HURT LOCKER

Okay, whether this story deserved Oscar stardom-i sincerely don't know because:
1. There have been quite a few films already with the Iraqi/Afghanistan war "enchalata" in the background playing a big huge white elephant of a character-and all these films in my humble opinion are equally as good, intense and moving. Examples?-In the valley of Eli,The lucky ones,Stop loss and even Body of lies("even" because its a Ridley Scott film, meaning some drama with a LOT of smart serious firework action)

2. And it's a story about the guys in the army who are basically the bomb squad and it may seem simple enough-but its not just about them as soldiers in dark and awful situation but also about "them"in this place where anybody or thing could be a ticking bomb. The thing is was this enough of a plot to get such critical acclaim?

Well i thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I think its the power contained in most scenes of the movie that works so well. Storyline scenes i hadn't scene in other movies about this war,For example a soldier in a local man's house ...talking,a suspicious human bomb begging for his life, a rockstar of a soldier who gets a suicidal high from finding and dis-arming "impossible explosives"

it was just another interesting side to the story of the soldiers out there and it worked. And a woman directed this very manly flick.NIICEE!

50 DEAD MEN WALKING

Awsome film! Totally in to it!!
 Part hystorically biographic(;)),part drama,part thriller,inteliigent action sequences.
\
Sincerely i had never known much about the religious denomination and political fights in Ireland and theier relationship with England. I still may not know that much but this story made me "get it".The character of it all on all sides(at least the obvious ones)

I really kind of got to understand the lives, mentality and anger of these characters. The plot was moving and i think very well written.

It moved because most of it really happened and these people are real.

Some great strong,rough drama man!!!

imho

NINE

Its like a documentary about a 50's/60's Italian film maker. Like  a documentary with strong musical numbers(a collage of music  videos) and very retro-like iconic shots(almost every scene could be a picture on a post card).

I had a great time watching the music performances. Set in mid 20th century but aww soooo 21st century style or maybe its just me being of the Mtv/Vh1 generation. As an aspiring filmaker-i appreciated the editing-very passionate way of story telling in my opinion.

Daniel Day-Lewis nails it! He has that adorably poetic creepy artist thing going in his eyes.;)

The plot-yup  ...about one of those genius(yes,i said European) European Directors. Eccentric, chain smoker, troubled, bordeline depressed or neorotic, relationship challenged, plus perharps a small dose of " mummy issues" -this our main character is bordened and blessed with the gift to make cinema magic and he's been called upon to work his wonder yet again but....."Houston,we might have a problem"

Its not one of those musicals movies that most of us may cringe it(i'm a fan of some of those musicals like west side story, the sound of music, fiddler on the roof)
This musical is made in a way the minds of this generation can grasp the flow and soul of it.

The story is filled with a lot of passion in my humble ...you know what. I could feel it in the lyrics and texts.
Rob Marshall(director of this piece)has started his own new wave.
though it might be a tad similar to Moulin rouge and Chicago in theme style and era but...

I had humble pie for breakfast so there you go;)

THE EDGE OF DARKNESS

MEL IS BAAACCK! or should i say-MAD MAX.You might be able to tell i'm a big fan of his. As an actor- there're very few actors who can do deep sorrow, crazy, sad and fury all at one time-like he's freaking out but you feel his pain. My Mel can do that(his piercing eyes OMG..!)in my opinion he is right up there with the greats. He's had a few almost bizzarre personal crisis...but i try to grab that he's human...enough said.

SO! about this film.-Mel is in it so...lol. But seriously the guy himself picks great stories to get involved in-so this film brings home "that"bacon;)
Suspense, edgy drama and a whoah!- kind of action!with a little political conspiracy thrown in there.

Mr Gibson has a great sense of awsome drama in directing and acting.Yess again-i'm obviously a big fan and i'm probably pushing the ass-kissing envelope too far so i'll stop here.

Great story to watch.

SHUTTER ISLAND

Alrighty- it's a Scorsese. So in my humble opinion-his way of story telling is an acquired taste for realism in pictures, mood and subject matter. I'm always enthusiastic to see his renditions of human life with emotional gravity that's classy...somehow .Sometimes or most times they are disturbing-but they have a message. Thats all i can think of to describe his work...lol

NOW, about SHUTTER ISLAND-at the start-a mystery story- then a little wierd mystery story-then a "come on-far fetched-mystery story. But then after all that you might feel -aw okay,i see how that kind of makes sense. I felt all that and in the end this was really just an endearing film.

Tendency to be confusing and therefore tempting to fish out plot goofs(that probably don't exist) but it redeems itself sooner than later. Leo completely drew me in. -our cute boy has come a loooong way from Titanic.;) Ben Kingsley is always convinces me. I fell in love with Mark Ruffalo as an actor all-over again.

THE BLIND SIDE

Aw so sweet pleasure watching this and a true story at that. Seeing people do pure, unadulterated good for someone in need was...to be honest- nothing new eh- but the film analised the intentions, motives and pscycholigical stories and back stories and internal stories of all the characters involved-which in my opinion,a little humble -was refreshing. It was well rounded. and not just a feel-good movie-but a feel and live good movie with lots of meat.
The story did not depict perfect people just people with flaws trying their best.

I love Sandra Bullock.

And that it was a story based on facts-what can beat that! i immediately googled  the characters as the credits rolled.

Nice one!!!!Very nice!;)
imho

PRECIOUS

This film scared the living crap out of me. You know why?..ofcourse you don't,because the thing was soo real.
Totally an R-rated human drama-that was the terrifying thing that the film was done in such a way that it made you realise that some people actually live, behave and think like this...that's how i felt as i watched ,it was like watching a documentary. It was depicted so ...so trully that many times i literally stared in irritation and sweet annoyance.

Moniq! that woman deserved that statue-i mean she made me hate her in this story. She made me want to get into that screen and beat her up(at least try to)for her first "heavy" film- she put the fear of fear into me.

In my humble opinion -i think black women have a natural thing for expressing hell's fury or fiery passion-so i guess they don't need to dig too deep for these particular emotions. Many or most Black ladies have that musical loudness and spontaniety-like jazz and hip-hop on legs. Its all about soul baby!(i'm a black lady by the way)

The new girl, Gabourey Sidibe, was a treat to watch. She stole my heart and made it bleed. Many times as the story went along-i'm like-that character may be down but there's something intensley strong lurking. I can feel it! Well you 'havta' see the movie yourself so i don't over-bias all over the place. The only tiny reserve i had was this was the girl's first film and she had to play a down and sad character  through most of the film-which in my humble opinion is not an immense challenge for a new comer-so i'm looking forward to seeing her in something else to fully appreciate her talent. That's fair,no?
Natural dialogue. I Haven't read the book but i can't help but think the producers were more than true to it. It worked. What a story to watch!!

And of course-i was like-thats Mariah Carey!!!! and that's Lenny Krawitz!!!!

In my humble opinion;)

UP IN THE AIR

I cried watching this!!
it was so yummy to watch a story of this sort! or on this subject matter(s)it was an awsome take on getting fired, firing people, and the life of a guy whose home is the air and loves it..until...;)

Probably this storyline might seem familiar to you, but trust me Jason Reitman(director) gives it his own take -its a whole new tennis game and depth to this gutsy and moving story. If you loved 'Juno' and 'thankyou for smoking' then you can stop reading this and go watch this film now.
If you're still here, and by the way  haven't seen Juno or Thankyou for smoking-you should curl up on the floor now in fetal position and join me to scream WHYYYY?!!

Humour in tragedy thats a challenging for any filmaker to pull off.And Jason packs on a lot of meat unto this babe. its a rich storyline and plot.

George Clooney convinces me in this movie that he's a regular guy not a lawyer, crime genious, political guy...

the script was great-not mind blowing -out of this world but very, very good!in my humble opinion;)

and again...
imho

REBOUND

I hope i'm not exaggerrating here when i say that -this is the best romantic comedy of a relationship where the womans is sizeably older than her male love interest. THE BEST!

I confess if i am exaggerrating...i don't think i care!!

In my humble opinion. it wasn't a sugerred up like -aww it's possible, nice and doable because all you need is love and age is nothing but a number -type thing AND neither was it a doomed impossible because a 15year difference  carries with it a lot of experiences, knowledge or the lack thereof and any and all guys below 30 are not mature enough-type thing.

I think it bravely and practically showcased this kind of relationship in every (or most )emotional and intellectual issuse . Showed it all humorously and dramatically and with dialogin-ly(?)realness, so that when you watch it you go "well...that makes sense" and not "yeah...right" or "i told you there's only one way this could go...see?!"

Great dialogue. the situations are beautiful. the actors are to die for!(loved those kids).its a sexy comedy with a fair look on love in all its cracked up to be.

Art Garfunkel was in it too!!!(hilarious)

THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS

I'm a fan of phylosophy, theology, wisdom, the connection between the natural and supernatural -so i was more than a yes person to see this film. Lest we forget seeing great actors and beautiful men like JOHNNY DEPP,JUDE LAW,COLIN FARREL AND OFCOURSE HEATH LEDGER share some of their talent together.

The story was a rumble tumble for me from the start-and not in a fast way.I was not sure what i should be thinking about as i watched this plot open up-and i hate this feeling.-Nothing seemed clear. The dialogue wasn't helping any.Even when Heath  showed up-it kinda got worse for me. But anywho i gave it the benefit of the doubt-maybe it was me-the movie was to deep for my blood. half way in(trendy in my blogs,no?) to the film -when they finally get to showing off the doctor's imaginarium-i started to taste some meat of a plot.

I like stories with messages clearcut or subtle but it's there-but this was bit all over the place in my humble opinion.

I think this sort of story needed to be told like one of those wierd, absorbing Picasso paintings-where the woman had three or four eyes-BUT you could still tell it WAS A WOMAN. and not a jackson Pollock painting with splashes and dots of paint of different colours eveywhere and you might as well have seen a wind-mill or was it a chicken...

...or maybe i need to watch it again-but you see i don't think this is even that sort of film where the illumination develops the more you go back to it.

A fantasy-sci-fi-drama-adventure type thing with seemingly heavy improvisation. Enjoyed the attempt though.
imho.

BROTHERS

COOME ON!!-ITS JAKE GYLLENGAL,TOBI MCGUIRE AND NATALIE PORTMAN IN THE SAME FILMIC SPACE FOR 2 HOURS!! You bet your sweet arse i was all over it.lol

A real storyline thats held its own. A Cane-Abel thing thrown into the middle of the Iraqi war thing and a beautiful wife-thing with 2 cute daughters, the older of whom was more like  8 going on 21.

Tough for me to accept Natalie as a mother of 8 and 5 yr old(thereabouts)-the picture didn't just fit for me-but from the background tale ,i gathered that-she and Tobi' character probably got married right out of highschool-so that stopped that itch.

...and first time seeing Tobey in a full out drama-drama,and he was "all up in there" especially halfway through the movie as his character disfigures emotionally and somewhat physically- all thanks to Tobi's great acting.

At the start- all i saw was the cute-babyface Toby-and i was like-naaah this isn't going to work-him a hard-arse soldier,a father of two...naah-but as the plot intensified his character potrayal was grand.

Seriously,in my humble opinion Toby's role is something that would have been "home" for Jake G. because Jake has done a lot more drama in all forms so i was pleasantly suprised to see him in the less pscychological explosive role.I kept expecting his character to burst out Jakey style...lol but he never does-he rode the calmer river this time and let Toby burn the house down.It was fun to watch this.

Madam Natalie was the lady in between-but not the way you expect-not the way this script was written anyway. This was no love triangle thing(as some lazy films have depicted). This one was with more meaty complexity(just my opinion) ,nicely done and Natalie as a mum made it look too easy. The camera loves her though and she's still one of my great favs.

A quiet story with some fireworks...and/or just plain fire.
A beautiful homage of empathy and sympathy for what some of these soldiers do and endure just so they can go home. The love in this screen fable is in my humble opinion, depicted with  realness and a lot of heart.

THE TIME TRAVELERS WIFE

I was in the mood for a great love story. Did i get it ,watching this film?

W-e-eell, Eric Bana was comfy to watch in this dramatic-paranormal story. And i think Rachael McAdams is a delicious actress. I mean i trully believe her when she does her thing- in whatever role she plays. And the fresh take on time travel was fascinating to watch(Although with a few "coome on!" and "but what...?")

Halfway through the film, you know the tear dam has full intention of breaking. When i realised this-i gradually got tired as the film progressed -the story became a burden.
Yup ,it's one of those conceptual stories about the grandness of unconditional love- but this grandness was lost on me by the end of the film.

Needless to say i didn't get the lovestory all rounded feel i craved. There were some loose ends, hence the "coome on.." and "but what..?". SO, towards the end i was more intrigued by the time travel phenomenon(though scantily clad) than the time traveler's relationship with his wife.

Was that the intention of the filmmakers?

Giving credit, the story asks the famed question " destiny or choice"(thats a famed question right?)

That's just imho.

2012

"The day after tomorrow" multyplied by 200. SWEEEEEEEEEEETT!- visually!..WHHOOOOOAAAA!-thrilling-ly. OH BOOOOY! DAAMN! YIIIKES! EEEH! because they did it.

They ended the world on film. Mercilessly. Shamelessly killed a lot of (not one or 2) loveable characters. I cant think of any other disaster movie that went the full monty on world ending scenario. Maybe there are, but none this brutal. -i argue!

Why i think this film was great is because-after executing total destruction-the question of what happens next here on earth or after was attempted to be answered....this intrigued me and didnt make me feel totally hopeless.lol

yeah,yeah-as the tendency is for American films of this scale and plot-the personal anthems people seemed to bravely vocalise during those" i might die" or"you might die" scenes-were so suppy that you you would remember you were watching "only a movie".

I'm a fan of John Cusack so biastly he can do no wrong by me;)...sometimes it was hard to believe his character actually fathered those kids-the same uncomfortable thing i felt when watchin Tom Cruise in war of the worlds.

A roller-coaster trip in the cinema. i'm not sure how it would look at home(unless u have a big screen)but either way i think the message/story/gist and picture will still work quite well...ok a little more than quite well
imho

FUNNY PEOPLE

I adore this particular group of comedians. So to see them in one film together was a thing of beauty!

I think the movie was just a fun(expensive) way for these guys to hang out together and do stand-up for 2 hours.

I loved their movies because they excellently combine natural(seeminly) humour with real life drama-yup it can be raw sometimes but they make it delightful ...like sushi for some people. You watch and you think-well they have to be raw to be real and relatable...in my humble opinion they do that nicely.

Their comedies-especially the recent ones, are powered with human drama and sneeky intelligent humour.

This film started in a certain flow and then somehow went too broad and some scenes a tad too long. Half way through the film-i lost the haert of it somewhere and was just under the spell of watchin ERIC BANA in a comedy!!!Eric in a comedy!!in his natural accent(i think)!!!awsoooome!

Back to the film-Cool cameos(amazing even. yup definately Eminem),interesting starting plot, a treat watchin them guys do their thing, but i have a sneaky suspicion that i might have enjoyed watching a comedy special with all of these funny people each giving their 15 mins.

Quite an R rated vocab. So be warned.

Loved the opening sequence. Like i said before imho, these guys were just hanging out on screen and sharing their brotherly love(?) and humour with us,slightely doc/mocumentary style. It was cute and hilarious even. sometimes. but the STORY went all over the place after the first 1hour or so.

So there.
imho

AWAY WE GO

In my humble opinion-this is one of those stories where you have to be ready to listen to feel the "rock n roll"!
A not so simple story told and shown simply and with such great humour and observational heart(you know what that means!)..but to feel IT -you gotta listen.

A believable love story with a few quirky characters(but thats the honey;)). A friendship story. A  figure- out-who-i-am story. Spiffy dialogue
Its  funny in the best way possible but you also end the movie feeling ..."i can be true...i can try to be myself...i can make and keep my promises..."

Its a great story to listen to if you're not squimmish of some cussing.

I loved that the couple were so unapologetically themselves-and you could see they were best friends.I loved how they tried.(:))They really tried to not be judgmental and were not afraid to say or show-they didn't know.

Well,yeah-a love story with the whole world in it.

Watched this with my husband and friends....they didnt give it a chance- 10 mins into the film-they wanted a "faster"comedy.Just 10 mins people!!lol

So dont watch this if you're tired or looking for a movie with prat-fall or fart jokes or  regular funny thats so all up in your face-that you laugh before really knowing/thinking why.(confusing?)

With this movie-you listen and laugh warmly(cheesy but true). ...you might also cry...maybe;)

 all IMHO

COUPLES RETREAT

I enjoyed the characters. I loved the themes(very real). I'm a fan of stories about couples and marriages and the whole amusement park of it all. Analysis and therapy of the man-woman thing in 4 different versions. Humorous enough to cover the somehow scanty/weak dialogue and deep enough to forgive that.

I think it was a trully sincere intention to give a hearty message of how and what love can and should be like, years after "i do"  was super easy to say or not.

it looked like the different scenarios were just loosely set up so some very important soulful or funny things could be said(or done). But the film as one solid form from scene to scene was drifting and  scattered .

so if you want to learn or be reminded of some golden thoughts of relationships(openly and briefly talked about) and see some (predictably)funny scenes. Its an interesting movie to see on a rainy day and you're feeling melancholic.

I loved knowing that Vince Vaughn could write such an insightful script on relationships. "breaking up" (he wrote that)was intensely great too.

i loved watchin him be the "ass" here.;);) ...imho

AVATAR

Was reluctant to watch the thing in 3D as the whole world seemed to be thinking this was the ONLY way to enjoy the film. This seeminly popular opinion discouraged me. I also thought seeing it in 3D would totally take the meat out of the story(if there was a story to begin with) and be smothered in special effects and space invadors(including my space).

but i gave in and went to the IMAX theatre. Got my goggles. Got my pocorn. sat in my seat. wore my goggles and prayed James Cameron would serve this highly expensive, tech. advanced ,glossy pie with enough fleshy meat of a story to satisfy yours trully-a not die hard fan of ...action and robots.

and el Cameroniego did his best to fill every inch of space, 3d or not with a wicked soul touching story and i might add-believable plot. its a sci-fi. fantacy film folks-it was supposed to be literally "out of this world" and it was -in visual and in text. The story carried a relevant message/s,the special effects were beautiful and anatomically  detailed(sci-fans should get that)

love.war.society.cross cultures.science.supernatural.beliefs.humor and some good ol action fights. Great soundtrack too.

I had to take my goggles off a few times-because Jimmy, the film worked so well that i didnt even need the 3d effect to trully appreciate it. Yes,i agree it gave a few scenes some depth and feeling in the 3D.

But  with or without the 3D the movie worked.

it worked oooh so well... IMHO
